This is "Surprised Happy Dog" – a piece from my father’s hand, where the immediate, the warm, and the slightly whimsical are given free rein. The motif depicts a dark, abstract, and quirky dog figure that wears its heart on its sleeve, captured in an intense and vibrant yellow universe of floating blue and red spheres. It is raw naivism with a genuine edge. It is a picture that does not take itself too seriously, yet, through its coarse brushstrokes and strong color contrasts, possesses a massive weight that refuses to be invisible on the wall.
