This is "Brush Crucifix". An original, three-dimensional collage piece by my father, Aage Arbjerg. It is a piece of uncompromising installation art that forces raw and forgotten everyday materials into an insistent and powerful context.
The work is built upon a solid, verdigris-green wooden board with a rough, weathered texture. Beneath a small, asymmetrical roof hangs the centerpiece: a classic paintbrush, fastened with raw metal brackets in a shape that inevitably draws parallels to a crucifix. It is crooked, it is tangible, and it refuses to decorate in the traditional sense. It is art with physical weight that creates instant edge and demands a stance from those who view it.
Dimensions:
Height: 45 cm
Width: 41.5 cm
Depth: 10 cm
Good to know about this original work This is a unique, handmade piece of art. For you to know exactly what you are investing in, it is important for me to clarify the following before you add the work to your cart:
Colors and the digital representation The image showing the collage alone is a true and unedited photograph of the actual work you are purchasing. However, please remember that you are viewing it via a screen. Since there is a significant difference in color rendering, resolution, and brightness from screen to screen, the colors and shades of the physical wood and metal may differ slightly from what you see digitally.
Inspiration and proportions The lifestyle image, where the work is hanging in a furnished room, has been created with AI to give you inspiration as to how it might look in a home. This image is for illustrative purposes only, and the proportions do not necessarily reflect the true size of the work 100%. You will always find the precise dimensions right above in the description.
Living craftsmanship This is not a mass-produced item. It is an original, hand-built collage. This means that you will be able to see clear signs of wear, peeling paint, raw joints, and unevenness in the materials. These are not flaws, but the very foundation and evidence of living, unpolished craftsmanship.
Copyright When you purchase this collage, you are buying the physical work to hang in your home. The copyright and rights to the motif remain with the artist and Arbjerg Nordic. I therefore reserve the right to sell the motif as photographic prints or posters in the future.
If you change your mind Should the work unexpectedly not fit into your home, you naturally have a 14-day right of withdrawal. As this is unique art, you are responsible for the return shipping, and it is your responsibility to ensure that the collage is securely packed and arrives back to me undamaged.
